My Experience with Content

Content is the backbone of my life. I live for moments to capture, and the drive to make something cool.

With that comes an everlasting collection of photos, videos, and more that will live with me for all time.

One of the best ways I found to store all of this is through online storage mediums, like Google Photos and my iCloud drive.

I love these methods, as they serve as a no-hassle, easy way to keep all my content in one place. iCloud stands as one of the best for me as any of the photos I take with my phone will immediately get backed up so I never have to worry about if I drop my phone in the river.

Google Photos is also a great backup for me as well, also serving as a historical storage for old photos and videos for both me and my family.

When we get away from traditional photos and videos, my storage solutions get far, far worse.

Files have been the bane of my existence for as long as I had a computer. Sometimes I have temporary solutions through Google Drive or OneDrive. Still, almost every one of my organization efforts eventually fell through in turn of a big folder that has everything on my computer in it.

This ends with me having a massive place where everything sits, and I have no idea what I do or don’t need anymore, so I never throw anything away.

This is something I know I really need to improve, especially when I have tons of downloaded images from work that I only use to upload directly to a different server, leaving me with hundreds of images that I never touch ever again.

Same with having school materials from over 4 years ago on my laptop that I have never thought about or looked back on ever since I finished the class.

I need a complete overall of my content system.

It’s clear that I am extremely disorganized, so by perhaps going through my current content and seeing what truly is needed, I could simplify everything entirely.

It’s always hard, however, when I absolutely love keeping files, projects, and more from the years. I like having the full information, and the ability to just open something up like I just worked on it yesterday.

However, that shouldn't be the case. In reality, I’m just a content hoarder, refusing to throw anything away.

I hope to find inspiration to change my ways, but only time will tell.
